2026–27 Choice Application Windows

Eight monthly windows, February through September.

For 2026–27, Wisconsin DPI replaced the old single Feb–Apr window with eight monthly application windows. Choice-eligible families apply during whichever window fits their timeline, through DPI’s Online Parent Application portal. Tuition-paying families enroll any time through VCA Virtual directly.

Aug 7

Parent Orientation & Block Party

5–8 pm at the Milwaukee campus. The school year opens with a community gathering — the easiest first visit for any family.

Aug 17

First Day of Classes

2026–27 begins. Daily devotions start at 7:35 am; full school day runs 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Fall STARS testing follows the week of Aug 24–28.

Sep 18

Choice Count Date

The official Wisconsin DPI count date for Choice students. Sept 11 is Grandparent's Day; picture days are Sept 23–24; first-quarter parent–teacher conferences run Sept 24 and Sept 28.

Oct 16

Q1 Ends · Fall Break

Career Day on Oct 15. Q1 closes Oct 16 with a teacher-development day. Fall Break Oct 19. Q2 begins Oct 20. Pastor Appreciation Chapel Oct 28.

Nov 25

Thanksgiving Break

Wednesday through Friday of Thanksgiving week off (Nov 25–27). Devotions resume the following Monday.

Dec 11

Christmas Program

School-wide Christmas program. Q2 ends Dec 17; teacher-development day Dec 18; Christmas Break Dec 21 through Jan 4.

Jan 5

Q3 Begins

Classes resume Jan 5. MLK Day off Jan 18. Winter STARS testing Jan 25–29.

Feb 11

Mid-Year Conferences

Parent–teacher conferences Feb 11 and Feb 15 (4–8 pm). Mid-winter break Feb 12–15. Teacher-development day Feb 19.

Mar 9

Q4 Begins · ACT Testing

Q3 ends Mar 5; teacher-development day Mar 8; Q4 begins Mar 9. ACT with Writing for 11th graders Mar 9–10. State testing for grades 3–10 runs Mar 15 through Apr 23. Spirit Week Mar 18–25.

Mar 26

Spring Break

Spring Break begins Mar 26 and runs through Apr 2. ACT make-ups Apr 6–7.

May

Spring Hospitality & STARS

Muffins for Mom on May 7. Spring STARS testing May 17–20. Donuts for Dad and Q4 ends on May 28. Memorial Day May 31.

Jun 3–5

Graduation Week

K5 Graduation Wed Jun 3. Last day of school and 8th Grade Graduation (6 pm) Thu Jun 4. 12th Grade Graduation (2 pm) Fri Jun 5. Virtual Scholars who travel in walk the same stage.
